Gospel of Mary · 2 of 6

An Eternal Perspective

[The Berlin Codex narrative begins here on its seventh manuscript page. Pages 1–6 are missing.]

.“[…] Then will matter be [annihilated] or not?”

.The Savior said: “All natures, all forms, all created entities exist inside and together with one another.

.They will dissolve once more into their own roots, because the nature of matter dissolves solely into what pertains to its nature.

.He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

.Peter said to him: “As you have explained all things to us, tell us this as well, what the sin of the world is.”

.The Savior said: “Sin does not exist, but it is you who create sin when you commit what resembles the nature of adultery, which is called sin.

.This is why the Good came among you, to what pertains to every nature, so as to return it back to its root.”

.He then continued and said: “That is why you become si[c]k and die.

.Because [you love] [the one who] will [deceive you], [he who under]stands, let him understand.

.Matter [gave birth to] an imageless passion which originated from (what is) contrary to nature.

.Next, a disturbance arose in the entire body, so that I said to you:

.‘Obey, but even if you do not obey, obey at least in the presence of the varying forms of nature.’

.He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
