The Book of Enoch · 19 of 109

Chapter XIX

1.And Uriel said to me: ‘Here shall stand the angels who have connected themselves with women, and their spirits assuming many different forms are defiling mankind and shall lead them astray into sacrificing to demons [as gods], (here shall they stand,) till [the day of] the great judgement in which they shall be judged till they are made an end of.

2.And the women also of the angels who went astray shall become sirens.’

3.And I, Enoch, alone saw the vision, the ends of all things: and no man shall see as I have seen.

Asked of Guide

Why will the angels who mated with women 'stand' until the great judgment?

Uriel says the angels who joined with women will stand as witnesses and as bound offenders: their spirits, having “assumed many different forms,” remain present to show how they defiled humanity and led people to sacrifice to demons. The standing marks both their exposure and their suspension until the appointed “great judgement” when they will be judged and “made an end of.”

Enoch reports this vision alone—he emphasizes singular access when he says, “no man shall see as I have seen,” which frames the chapter as a unique revelation rather than a legal argument. This parallels Revelation’s scenes of condemned supernatural beings awaiting final judgment, where visibility equals accountability before the final sentence.
